Sectional renovation

The procedure has a DIBt approval with the approval no. Z-42.3-326. By means of this sectional renovation method, also referred to a short liner, a fibreglass fabric mesh soaked with reaction resin, which is reeled onto the renovation packer sized to the corresponding nominal width, is pushed to the damaged renovation area by means of an air-driven push rod or pulled by means of a rope.

The determination of the exact position of the damaged area takes place by means of a previous inspection performed by a TV camera. Then the renovation packer (rubber bubble) is provided step-by-step with compressed air. Due to the expansion of the packer body, the impregnated fibreglass fabric mesh is non-positively pressed to the interior wall of the pipe, whereby the excess reaction resin penetrates the damaged areas, thus hardening into a permanently self-supporting static system.

As the damaged area is covered over the full surface by the hardened fibreglass fabric mesh, the “Pipe in pipe system” does not present a hindrance for the flow and withstands the hydraulic requirement. The curing of the fibreglass fabric mesh soaked in reaction resin takes place by cold setting in accordance with the processing instructions. It must be observed that the hardening time required depends on the respective sewer atmosphere.

After the curing process, the compress air is released from the renovation packer and extracted from the pipeline. The renovated area must then be subjected to a final inspection by a mobile TV camera – this procedure is to be documented. The leak tightness test takes place acc. to DIN EN 1610.

Cold-curing 3P silicate resins are used for sectional renovation, which are characterised by a high chemical and temperature resistance. The 3P silicate resins can be intermixed, by means of which the processing and curing times can be altered according to requirements.  more...

• 3P silicate resin type W “Winter quality”
  Short liner resin up to DN 400 suitable for most applications due to easy handling. DIBt approval exists for the nominal width range DN 100 to DN 700 (DIBt approval no. Z-42.3-326).


• 3P silicate resin type S “Summer quality”
  Due to its longer processing time, this short liner resin is used for large nominal widths and lengths. The curing time of the 3P silicate resin type S may also be reduced according to requirements by the addition of 3P silicate resin type W. DIBt approval is available for the nominal width range DN 100 to DN 700 (DIBt approval no. Z-42.3-326).

These are especially developed for the sectional renovation of pipe damage in circular and egg-shaped profiles and are characterised by their high quality and durability. • House connection packers
  are particularly flexible and easy to handle and can be guided into and positioned in small openings such as manholes etc. by means of push rods or pull ropes. They therefore neither require a set of wheels nor a passageway. Available in diameters from DN35 to DN200 and lengths from 0.6 m to 5.0 m.
• Flex packers
  are flexible and can be inserted into the pipeline to be renovated via the shaft without any problems. The adjustable sets of wheels included in the scope of delivery allow easy centring and ensure an even renovation result. Flex packers have a passageway, such that the water flow can be maintained during curing, thus expensive transfer pumping is not necessary. Available in diameters from DN100 to DN1200, whereby they can always be used for several sizes. Available in lengths from 1.0 m to 5.0 m.
• Long packers
  are extremely flexible and available in diameters from DN200 to DN800. Long packers from DN600 can be inserted into the pipeline to be repaired via a manhole cover. Can be positioned by push rods or pull ropes and require neither a set of wheels nor a passageway. Available in lengths from 1.0 m to 5.0 m, whereby special sizes are possible upon request.
• Short packers
  Short packers have a passageway, such that the water flow can be maintained during curing, thus expensive transfer pumping is not necessary. Available in diameters from DN150 to DN700, whereby they can always be used for several sizes. Available in lengths from 960 mm to 1180 mm.vv
• Bend packers
  are particularly flexible and therefore ideal for the renovation of branches and bends of 45°, 60° and 87°. Available in diameters from DN70 to DN205, whereby they can always be used for several sizes. Available in lengths from 1.0 m to 1.5 m.
